Usability questions you should ask yourself about your website
If you or your company has a website (or one in the works), here's a quick checklist of questions you should regularly ask yourself. At first glance they seem like common sense, unfortunately many folks either forget or overlook these fundamental usability issues.
Can your users:
- read your text without straining their eyes?
- immediately scan your content and determine the subject matter?
- figure out where they are on your site, and where they can go next?
- distinguish hyperlinks from regular text?
- quickly and easily find your contact info?
- control whether they'd like to hear/see audiovisual content?
- explain to others what you or your company does after seeing your site?
Ease-of-use is paramount in web design, and even the smallest sites should be sure to keep it in mind.
